Public Health Accreditation
The Seneca County General Health District (SCGHD) is tasked with safeguarding and improving the health and wellbeing of all Seneca County, including the city of Fostoria residents.
We are committed to upholding the highest standards of health and safety for our community. In order to ensure we are providing the best service possible, our department has embarked on the journey to become accredited. Public Health Accreditation, overseen by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), is a voluntary national program designed to help standardize and improve public health practices and the quality of care offered in health departments nation-wide. The process requires the close inspection of our core procedures, processes, and policies to ensure that they not only comply with the rigorous standards set by PHAB, but that they are best practices designed to ensure our community receives the highest-quality care.
The Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) has released a new video showcasing the benefits accreditation brings to health departments and communities. Follow the link below:
Reaping the Benefits of Accreditation Across the Nation
The accreditation assessment process provides valuable, measurable feedback to health departments on their strengths and areas for improvement.
Applying for accreditation is our promise to the community that our healthcare standards are high, our vision for a healthier Seneca County is clear, and that our commitment to the public’s wellbeing remains our highest priority.
